The first we should know basic kiteboarding terms:
KNOT: One knot is equal to one nautical mile per hour and one knot is equal to 1.15 miles/1.85 kilometers. Knot is a wind speed measurement term used in kitesurfing.
OFFSHORE WIND: Offshore wind means that the wind is blowing from the shore towards the water. It is strongly recommended not to surf in an offshore wind as you may end up too far from the land.
UPWIND / DOWNWIND: Upwind is surfing in the direction against the wind and downwind is surfing in the direction with the wind.
CHICKEN KNOT: The chicken knot is a loop that connects the surfer to the hook on the pole control system.
QUICK RELEASE: The quick release is a safety release system that allows the rider to release the kite or leash when the wind is strong offshore.
After that you just need to keep practicing the basic moves. After three days, you will be able to surf with confidence.
